WOW! Prom Hair, 2015 Edition…Plus, a GIVEAWAY!
Prom Hair, 2015 Edition
It’s that time of year again…the time when girls all over America are searching the web for their chosen PROM hair! Pinterest is abuzz with activity, and the newsfeeds are full of up-do’s and curls. As a hairstylist, prom is definitely an exciting time, as it gives us an opportunity for something different, fancy, out-of-the-norm! It’s our time to shine, until all of those beautiful girls get done, dressed, and don their heels…then it’s their turn!
I do love prom in the salon. I love the hair; I love the makeup; I love the excitement! It can be stressful, sure, but anything worth doing has a little edge to it. This year was a calm, laid-back prom day, with a shop full of sweet, polite, easy-to-please girls. I raced time a little, and had a client or two wait a little, but nothing crazy. {I also went in an hour earlier than I had to, thanks to one client’s negligence to let me know that she had obviously found a later time with another stylist…that was annoying. No-shows are always an aggravation, but on prom day? You’ve got to be kidding me…no one forgets it’s prom, and everyone has a phone these days….sheesh!}
Without any further ramblings, here are my girls with their awesome prom hair and makeup!

And, since I was reduced to only two girls in the end, I’ll share a few of Shuh-Wanda’s beauties, as well.

I got a couple of great action shots of my magnetic bobby pin bracelets! Those things are so awesome, and I can’t imagine doing formal hair without one!
Since you’ve stuck around and viewed all of our gorgeous work, you now get to be privy to something I’ve been teasing about for the last two posts: a GIVEAWAY! That’s right, folks, free stuff! This is some great stuff, too!
Remember this? Yes, Shuh-Wanda and I went to a fantastic hair show two weekends ago, and there was one little thing I did not share about it. We got something free that day, just for showing up! It was a re-usable shopping bag filled with all of these great products,
and I would very much like to pass this sweet gift along to one of my readers! I was so pleased to receive such a generous gift from Fashion Focus ’15 and “it’s a 10”, that I wanted to spread the joy! “it’s a 10” is a brand I feel good about, too, because they partnered with Christina Applegate to formulate this product,
and a portion of all proceeds on sales of this product goes to her organization, Right Action for Women (click the links to learn more)!
“it’s a 10” is a fantastic brand, and each product lists ten benefits on the back of the bottle/can that the product can give you. Here’s the rest:
All of these in the prize pack are mostly retail-sized products, except for that little travel hairspray, and they can all be yours!
All you have to do is follow this blog via e-mail, and leave a comment on this post telling me which one of these five great products you think will be your favorite, and you will be entered to win (if you read on your mobile device and aren’t sure how to do this, click the little “settings” wheel at the top of the page and it will give you my sidebar, where you can follow by email). You MUST complete both of these steps to enter, so be sure to both follow and leave a comment! The winner will be randomly chosen from all the correct entries, so be sure to complete both steps!
This contest is open to anyone in the United States, and will run from the time this post is published until midnight CST on Wednesday, May 13. I will announce the winner on the blog on Friday, May 15, and then get these awesome “it’s A 10” products to their lucky recipient!
Thank you, “it’s a 10”, and a big THANK YOU to Fashion Focus ’15 for the great haul!
* Some of you may hesitate to comment directly on the blog post, but never fear…it’s easy to set up an account with WordPress and log in, and you’re not going to be signing up for anything, paying for anything, or receiving a bunch of spam from WordPress. It’s just giving you access to lots of entertaining blogs, and the ability to comment on them!
Thank you for reading this Waves On Wednesday post, and I hope you enjoyed checking out all of our beautiful formal hairstyles! I can’t wait to ship out this awesome loot of professional hair products to my lucky winner!
I’ll be SOUNDING OFF on Friday!

Prom season! How pretty are all those hairstyles ! I would’ve loved these when I went to prom….What fun times they were!
Hmm all the “it’s a 10” products look great — I think the purse size hairspray is my favorite — It would come in handy during hot NYC summers and could easily be taken everywhere I go!
Thanks Martie for this very cool post 🙂

Shuh-Wanda did an amazing job on the girls!! Love those curls. Right away Miracle Whipped Styling Balm gets my attention, but all the products seem lovely. Definitely would want to give it a try.

What lovely prom styles! Makes me nostalgic for having my hair done for my prom a few years ago! (I’m being kind to myself with few, it’s almost a decade…). The one and only time I’ve ever had my hair done all lovely, not just cut, and it made me feel like a princess! How nice that you get to give that to lots of girls! 🙂

I strive to please on prom day! My prom style, compliments of a very nervous stylist at JC Penney, looked just like the Coneheads! I wore it down and slightly wavy in the end! Lol!

I’m betting that the whipped styling balm would do wonders for my hair!

I think so, too!
