Upstairs Carpet Reveal!
I don’t have to say much today. All you need is these beautiful pictures to see our upstairs carpet reveal! See this post if you need a reminder of the “before” pictures. Without further adieu…
Yes, those are the antique beds I was bragging about. My grandfather, Madre’s father, hand-made those beds. My girls are the third generation to sleep in them! The girls love their canopies, held by braces that Daddy-O made for them. What a fantastic Christmas gift!
If you can’t tell, the built-in window seats are one of my favorite things about this room.

I tried to take a carefully-snapped shot of a built-in desk/dressing table. The top was still covered in junk….heehee!
Coach even added some super-strong backpack hooks in the closet!

You see that my girls don’t go for the “matchy-matchy”. Pooh is NOT giving up her Alabama gear, and Tigger can’t live without her girlie fluff!
This room is heavenly to me. The new mattresses and boxed springs, along with the new carpet, make it the perfect room for my girls. Coach added baseboards where they were lacking, and that completed their room. Checking a room off of the list feels so good, but making an amazing, old attic room look new again definitely makes my heart smile. I know now how Madre felt all the times that she re-did the same room for Jimmie and me (she pretty much re-did it every summer…it was a way of coping with us being gone to visit Daddy-O for a month).
And, just in case you have an affection for cool, old attic rooms, I’ll share a few more great sites that I found while searching around on Pinterest. I just adore cozy attic spaces!
This one has 12…yes, I said TWELVE amazing attic rooms!
You think that’s something? This one triples that…37 fabulous attic spaces!
It’s so fun to dream about the next re-do….
(Oh….and if you want to see the stairs themselves, you’ll have to follow me on Instagram! I shared a before-and-after over there of the staircase…what a stunning transformation!)

Grandpa!!! I’m so happy to have your comment! What did you do?

I’m bummed that some of the pictures did not come through for me, but man, what a transformation! And the room is so clean! Looks marvy.

WAS so clean. I didn’t let them move half their stuff back until I took pictures! Hope you’ll try again…they were all there just now when I checked!

What will you do with yourself when the place is perfect? You and Coach have done a gorgeous job with this room. Will Pooh sit in the window with her trumpet the way Madre used to with her mandolin?
October 14, 2015 @ 12:14 pm
That will be a long time from now! Lol! Thank you, we’re thrilled to have completed one more room! Pooh plays that trumpet anywhere, anytime…I’m sure the window seat will get a turn!

Wow! What a great result! I love all the pics and especially those canopy beds! I swear it was a dream of mine to have one as a kid and these are so special….Oh, and I love the extra-strong backpack hooks…I could use those for my work bag…keeps it off the floor and tidy!
Beautiful carpet too!
xoxox Happy Tuesday!

The hooks are meant to keep the backpacks out of the way…I just hope you use yours more than Tigger and Pooh! I’m still constantly tripping over those darn things! Ha!
Those beds are so special! ?
