Spring Break!
I took an unplanned week off from the blog to enjoy spring break with my family, and now I’m back and ready to blab on about what I have been up to. I hope no one missed me too terribly or lost any sleep…ha! We had a great week, and spent some time outdoors soaking up the sun!
On Wednesday, we spent some time clearing a path to my favorite old swimming hole. Here’s a very favorite picture of mine, just a little ways downstream from where we were working. Madre’s farm, my homeplace, is a like a magical, restful paradise. I love spending time there, even if it means rolling up our sleeves and doing some much-needed repairs and clean-up. Here are some sneak peeks.
Ain’t it grand?
Tigger had a birthday!! She’s 9 years old, guys. How does this happen? Anyway, do you remember these?
Well, those were made of fondant. They were, at one time, available for purchase on Etsy. As you may recall, I went with candy clay.
Some of them looked pretty good.
Others looked a little afflicted.
Boy, were they good! We shared them at church on Sunday at our pot-luck lunch after services. We celebrate holidays with food at church, and I can vouch for my church family as being some of the best cooks in the Deep South!
For the most part, it was a great spring break. I had a couple of days off from work, I got to watch my girls be girls, and I have a rested and rejuvenated attitude. I have a lot more to share, so please stay tuned!
Happy Monday!
